My Brand-new Personal Website
This month marks 10 years of creating for Blocs — so I rebuilt my whole site in Blocs 6. Here's what's new, and what's next.
This month marks 10 years since I launched Blocs Templates — my first official product for the Blocs community. It’s a little surreal to write that number down. So much of what I do today started right there.
To mark the occasion, I rebuilt my personal website from scratch — EldarGezalov.com — and, of course, I built the whole thing in Blocs 6. I’d love for you to take a look.
But this is more than a fresh coat of paint. For me, it’s the start of a new chapter.
For years, my work was all about the tools — how to use Blocs, how to get the most out of it. That will always be close to my heart. Going forward, though, I want to focus on something bigger: not the tools, but what actually makes a website good. The taste, the polish, the small details that separate an amateur-looking site from a professional one.
That matters more than ever because of AI. AI is genuinely amazing for web design — it can get you 80% of the way in minutes. But it isn’t perfect, and it tends to leave every site looking a little generic and unfinished. The courses I’m working on are about that last 20%: how to make a site — whether you built it in Blocs with Minimalist Library, with AI, or both — actually look beautiful and polished.
The new site also draws a clearer line through everything I do. For a long time, everything lived everywhere, and honestly, most people just know me as “the Blocs guy.” So I’ve separated things out: my premium templates live on Blocs Templates, the Minimalist Library lives on Blocs Library, and all my Blocs courses and tutorials stay right here on Blocs Master. My personal site is now simply about me and the craft of design itself.
Nothing you rely on is going anywhere — it just has a clearer home now.
That includes my newsletters — and this is the one part I want to be really clear about. The email you’re reading is my Blocs Master newsletter, and it stays focused on Blocs, exactly as it is now. For a couple of years it was actually called the Eldar Gezalov Newsletter, so it’s easy to assume you’re already on my personal list. You’re not — they’re two separate lists now.
So I’ve started a new newsletter over on eldargezalov.com for the bigger picture: short, practical lessons on what makes any website look professional, plus first access to my new courses. If that sounds like your thing, you’re warmly invited to join — it’s a separate, optional inbox, not a replacement for this one.
And yes — a brand-new Blocs Master course is in the works for later this year. I’ll share more soon.
